Rhythm Of Livin'

Curtis:
"Cactus and I wrote this one with Gary Harrison. We used to use this groove for an intro to our shows. We liked it so much we made a song out of it. It's upbeat and positive and not about love, always hard to do, but fun. During rehearsals Charlie suggested adding 'Dancin' to the rhythm of life' great idea. Thanks Chas."

Bigger Than The Both Of Us

Cactus:
"This is an older song we had in the works when we were working with Chuck Howard on The New Frontier. We gave it more of a Fleetwood Mac spin - a real fresh feel."
Chrislynn:
"This tune seems to come up on everyone's favorite list. First single material."

Easier Done Than Said

Cactus:
"We used to do this song live and finally added it to our album turning it into a duet. We finally got the chance to do what we want."
Curtis:
"This is just good hillbilly music, fiddle and all."
Charlie:
"Yeah it has both chords in it."

I Wonder Where The Love Goes

Cactus:
"Acoustic ballad with a string quartet. A real departure for us, a favorite live."

True Hard Love

Curtis:
"This is a funky, nasty little groove."
Chrislynn: :
"It's kind of bluesy and fun. It's one of my favorites."
Cactus:
"It's Ry Cooder meets Highway 101."

Big Sky

Cactus:
"Lyrically this is one of my favorites. It was written at the same time we wrote 'Bigger than the Both of Us'".
Chrislynn:
"Everyone likes this song, it's got a great feel. I've even seen 'em line dancin' to it."

Ain't That Just Like Love

Chrislynn:
"My husband wrote that song and I sang the demo for him and played it on the bus one night, the guys loved it."
Cactus:
"It's a happy ballad that adds depth to the album."
Curtis:
"It's got a Blue Bayou thing goin' for it, duet style."

Only Thinkin' of You

Charlie:
"Mike Henderson and I made this one up. It's a rock 'n' roll fun song, which is great live. No brain surgery here-just fun."

There Goes My Love

Cactus:
"This one's a Buck Owen's cover we did on Highway 101 2, with a new rootsy Highway 101 twist, for Big Sky. We take turns singing harmony with Chris."

Thicker Than Blood

Curtis:
"This is another duet about two people trying to keep a relationship together. It's Romeo and Juliet set during the Civil War."

Long List Of Obvious Reasons

Chrislynn:
"This is my favorite."
Cactus:
"I got the opening line in a bar in Knoxville It's about a guy who never carried his girlfriend's picture around with him until after they broke up and he can't seem to let go."
Chrislynn:
"It has a real 'Take It To The Limit' feel. Somehow all the reasons they broke up don't seem important anymore."

Best Of All Possible Worlds

Charlie:
"I Wrote this one with Marcus Hummon and Jerry Boonstra. It's a line from Voltaire's classic 'Candide'."
Curtis and Cactus:
"It's Highway 101 goin' to the 60's."
